Designed in Scandinavia by Svein Asbjørnsen

The Norwegian industrial designer Svein Asbjørnsen has developed ideas and designs for many years – both under his own name and in cooperation with Scandinavian chair manufacturers. He works mostly with office chairs and armchairs.

Asbjørnsen's awareness and interest in seating ergonomics and adjustable seats goes as far back as the 1960s, when he experimented with his ideas at design school.

The specific ideas that later resulted in the Tilter® concept took shape in the 1980s. It was then that awareness of ergonomics and the work environment became widespread, and many chairs and stools were created that provided a varied sitting posture. Some were more spectacular than others, and several won wide approval and remain design icons to this day.
